Part 2 – Field Guide
Ritson’s Recession Playbook
The Field Guide for this week’s SoundADvice is Mark Ritson’s article, Ritson’s Recession Playbook.
Every business within every business category is different and how they react to a recession needs to be treated accordingly. Depending upon how your market is impacted and understanding how your competition reacts can help you determine what steps you can take to remain competitive and even grow your business during the downturn.
Warning: Mark is a very outspoken writer and speaker. He often uses what many would refer to as inappropriate language. If you are offended by this, please pass on reading this.
However, Mark’s information is highly valuable and backed by meticulous research. Attending one of his marketing sessions can cost you thousands of dollars. Major businesses pay him hundreds of thousands of dollars for his advice and expertise. The knowledge is well worth the price of admission.
Please note that in this article Mark is addressing primarily CMO and high-level marketing professionals that are representing very large companies. While not everything he states applies to small businesses, most of his thoughts do apply in one way or another.
We hope you find this information valuable as you consider your options in the coming months.
